Shiny New Things
A meditation on western intervention in the Pan African marketplace—incorporating inherited aesthetics allegorically linked to capitalism and excess and differences in performing competitive selling practices.

Through the use of video installation, these ad-hoc video installations and accompanying sculptures are a nod to pseudo-religious relics often sold over the internet.

Using negative space as a means to divide and control the ability to see a whole image being reframed in a new context this video ruminates upon on all the dichotomies present within an urban environment. By combining the forms that will interrupt the complete picture—or complete the picture—the video highlights an anxiety or inversely, a serenity that can be experienced in the urban landscape.
